For this cocktail recipe, you need Bosc pear also known as Kaiser. The Bosc pear, with its slender and elongated neck, has a larger head than other pears. The white flesh of the pear is soft, curled and feels firm if you touch it. They are good to eat raw and baked, but you can also turn them into a cocktail.

The second important ingredient after pear is apple cider. This versatile ingredient can easily be found in anyone’s kitchen.

Today, we will make pear cider which is a cocktail drink garnished with sage leaves. You can enjoy every sip of it; here’s how to make it from scratch.

2  bosc pears

¼ cup apple cider

Half a cup soda water

1 cup water

half a cup of honey

40 ml bourbon

4-5 fresh sage leaves

Cinnamon and brown sugar to sprinkle

  • Take 2 bosc pears and peel them. Cut them into small pieces and transfer them to a blender to make a smooth puree.
  • Boil pear puree, water, honey and sage in a saucepan. Reduce heat and cook for 4-5 minutes. Remove the saucepan from heat and let it come to room temperature.
  • Now, strain the pear syrup through a sieve to separate the remaining solid materials.
  • Take a large glass to make the cocktail. Then pour 40 ml of bourbon and 2 tablespoons of pear sage syrup into the glass and stir.
  • Then add half a cup of soda and a glass of cider to the glass and stir.
  • Add ice to a glass, sprinkle with cinnamon and brown sugar.

You can garnish pear cider with sliced pear and sage leaves. The sweet and tart taste of pear cider makes you sit and enjoy the weather.
