The Tokyo Olympics 2020 is underway, and India is already proud thanks to weightlifter Mirabai Chanu, who bagged a silver medal for the country in the 49kg category. The struggles of her journey till here have not been easy. Her tweets where one can see her home and humble living shows it all. She also gave up her favourite junk foods and ate healthy food to manage her weight. But now that she has returned to her hometown Manipur, the silver medalist is enjoying to her heart’s content with her family and some home-cooked food.
The athlete took to Twitter to share some of her moments post homecoming and netizens can’t stop appreciating how humble she is, even after the big win. Mirabai Chanu posted a picture of where she can be seen sitting on the floor and enjoying a delicious-looking home-cooked meal. Take a look:
"That smile when you finally eat ghar ka khana after 2 years," wrote Mirabai Chanu in the caption of the photo that garnered over 269k likes and over 17k retweets since the time it was shared. In the picture, one can see a happy Mirabai Chanu sitting beside a plate of rice with vegetables and gravies, that looked nothing less than a yummy feast. One could also spot balloons and flowers in the background which must’ve been a part of her celebration at home with her family.
Twitter users were impressed with the down-to-earth nature of Mirabai which shone through her picture, and showered praises on her photograph and her humility.
