This muffin is not just tasty but super healthy to eat. We are using matcha green tea powder in this recipe to make delightful and tasteful healthy muffins. Matcha powder is made from high-quality tea leaves. This powder works well in pastries, cakes and muffins.

Here’s how to make matcha tea muffins


  • 2 ½  cup of milk ( soy or almond milk, whichever you prefer)
  • 2 tablespoons of lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon of ground flaxseed
  • ¼  cup of coconut oil
  • ½  cup of maple syrup
  • 1 ¾ cup of wholemeal flour
  • 2 teaspoons of baking powder
  • ½  teaspoon of salt
  • 1 ½ teaspoon of matcha green tea powder 
  • Chocolate chips


  • Preheat the oven at 370 degrees F
  • In a bowl, put milk, ground flax seeds, lemon juice, and vanilla extract. Whisk properly and leave. Let the batter get thick for 5 to 10 minutes.
  • In a separate bowl, make a dry mixture by putting flour, baking powder and salt. Then add the matcha powder. Make sure there are no lumps while stirring and mixing. 
  • In a large bowl, melt the coconut oil and maple syrup. Then add the batter and stir. Gradually add the dry mixture and stir, but not too much. 
  • Add chocolate chips to the mixture. 
  • Pour the mixture into a muffin tin and bake for about 20 minutes, until the batter comes out clean, but before the edges turn brown. 
  • Let it cool and serve.
