The soothing lavender, sour lemons, sweet syrup and sparkling water meet to make this divine lavender lemonade. In the summer season, this lemonade is perfect to calm your body and mind. 

This beautiful drink has a nice light purple colour and a tangy taste. It brings a subtle floral finish with each sip. Here's how to prepare this ideal summer drink which can work as an ideal drink for parties or just for enjoying a warm and cozy evening. 


3 cups cold sparkling water

1 cup water

1 cup sugar

10 sprigs of fresh lavender

1 cup lemon juice ( use 6 medium lemons )

1 drop purple food colouring ( optional )

Note: If you don’t have fresh lavender, you can use two drops of lavender extract or one tablespoon of dried lavender. Fresh lavender flowers and dried lavender work equally well. If you use dried lavender, make sure it is culinary lavender. Dried lavender is easier to find and will last up to a year in a cool, dry place like your kitchen pantry.


  • Make a simple syrup by mixing one cup of water and sugar in a small saucepan. Whether you're using fresh or dried lavender, add it to the pan as well.
  • Cover and cook until the sugar has dissolved. Make sure to stir continually. 
  • Let it cool down to room temperature. Drain the lavender from the simple syrup using a fine sieve. Mix lemon juice, syrup and sparkling water in a one liter pitcher. If you are using an extract, add 2 drops of lavender oil to it.
  • Serve with ice and lemon wedges.

Tip: To bring more colour to your drink, you can also use food colouring.
