Fitness enthusiasts or those who are trying to lose weight must be aware of the juice cleanse diet. It involves consuming only vegetable and fruit juices for a short period of time in order to detoxify your body and achieve the weight loss goal. Please note that juicing involves extracting juices from the pulp and therefore you do not get to have all the edible parts of a fruit or veggie.

You should be aware of the pros and cons of the juice cleanse diet before opting for it. The diet may be becoming popular day by day but the trendy detox diet can keep you away from some essential nutrients like fiber. This is the argument presented by various experts.

Following a juice cleanse diet can help you get rid of the toxins and lose weight as you will be consuming only natural fruits and vegetables. But, that does not make it is an ideal weight loss diet. Juices contain barely 800 calories and that’s extremely little for any individual to consume in a day. Restricted calorie intake is unsustainable in the long run. It can negatively affect your metabolism.

The juice cleanse diet may be a short-term way to lose weight. But, following it for a long term can have ill effects including dizziness, constant headaches, dehydration. The juice cleanse diet helps you lose only muscle mass and water weight. It doesn’t affect your fat percentage. Also, it keeps you deprived of essential nutrients like protein, fat, iron, vitamin B12, carbohydrates, etc.

Thus, the juice-cleanse diet is not a very sustainable approach for weight-loss, and should certainly not be followed without expert guidance. If you wish you can follow it once in a while but only for a short period.
