French Fries Worth $200 Sets Guinness World Record As The World’s Costliest Fries

Serendipity 3, a famous restaurant in New York city, celebrated National French Fry Day in style, by breaking a unique world record.
How much do you love your bag of French Fries? More importantly, how much are you willing to pay for it? Does ₹15000 sound like a fair deal for a plate? As that is approximately how much a portion of world’s most expensive fries would cost you at Serendipity 3, a famous restaurant in New York city. The restaurant that reopened on 9th July, celebrated National French Fry Day in style, by breaking a unique world record.
The dish, also known as the crème de la crème pomme frites, was conceived by Chef Joe and Chef Freddy and it will be sold for a whopping $200. But what is so special about the fries, you ask? The fries are made with a bunch of rare and exotic imported ingredients. According to Serendipity 3’s official Instagram handle, that these fries are made with the upstate chipperback potatoes, Dom Perignon Champagne and J. LeBlanc French Champagne Ardenne Vinegar, Geurande truffle salt, Urbani summer truffle oil.
The intricate process of making the fries involves soaking the potatoes in champagne to lower the starch content. The potatoes are then also blanched in champagne vinegar and cooked thrice over in goose fat.
The boozy fries are also topped with shaved Crete Senesi Pecorino Tartufello.
As a finishing touch, the fries are dusted off with 23 karat edible gold dust, and are served on an exquisite crystal plate, as per reports.
The Guinness World Record team also shared a piece about the fries on their Facebook page. Serendipity 3’s crème de la crème pomme frites was bestowed with the honour on 12th July 2021.
