Biryani With A Twist: Here's How You Can Make Palak Biryani At Home

How about a mouth-watering main course which is healthy and tasty? Palak biryani might sound sophisticated, but it is a simple recipe for your healthy lunch or dinner plan.
Follow these steps to make a perfect bowl of palak biryani:
2 cups spinach
2 cups basmati rice
2 tablespoon ghee or oil
One cinnamon stick
2 small cardamom
1 bay leaf
½ cup mint leaves
½ cup coriander leaves
½ teaspoon cumin seed
⅓ teaspoon turmeric powder
3 green chilli
1 tablespoon ginger garlic paste
1 chopped onion ( medium-sized )
1 chopped tomato ( medium-sized )
Salt to taste
1 teaspoon lemon juice
Cashews for garnishing
Clean palak leaves and rinse well. Roughly chopped the palak leaves.
In a blender, add the chopped palak, coriander leaves, mint leaves, green chilli. Add a little water and blend into a smooth paste and set aside.
Soak rice 30 minutes prior to cooking.
In a cooking pot, heat oil. Add cumin, cloves, bay leaf, cinnamon, and cardamom. Add chopped onions, ginger garlic paste till golden brown.
Add chopped tomatoes and stir for 1 minute. Add turmeric powder, and cook for 2-3 minutes till tomatoes turn soft.
Pour palak paste and mix well. Add 3-4 cups water to boil, carefully stir for 5-6 minutes to not burn the paste. Add more water if needed.
Add rice in the pot and mix well
Let the rice cook on high heat for 3-4 minutes.
Lower the heat, cover with a lid and leave it for 15 minutes. After 15 minutes, turn off the flame.
Garnish palak biryani with mint leaves, lemon juice, and cashews.
It is a perfect way to add palak in a healthy way. This aromatic green biryani takes an hour to prepare. Serve this with raita.
